The Single Affordable Childcare Scheme

A new national scheme of financial support for parents towards the cost of their childcare was announced in Budget 2017. At Bambi’s, we recognise that parents will be keen to understand how this might benefit them. To that end please see the list of Frequently Asked Questions provided by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs below.

For the first time, it will be possible for a child in the ECCE scheme also to benefit from a subsidy for additional childcare use.

Demand for childcare places is higher than we have seen in several years, so it is important that parents secure their place early – we have opened applications for ECCE starting January, April, and September in both 2017 and 2018.

As a rule of thumb, the first enrolment month (January, April, September) after your child turns 3 is their ECCE start date, as they are eligible once they turn 3 years old.

We hope this information has helped – if you know a parent who is looking to find out about the Single Affordable Childcare Scheme, please feel free to share using the Facebook, WhatsApp, LinkedIn or other buttons below.
