Pre-School & ECCE

learning sheets optimisedBambi’s provides free pre-school places under the ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) Scheme. This means that we run pre-school sessions at no cost to the parents/guardians of our little clients.

The ECCE programme is designed to give children access to free programme-based activities in the years before they start primary school. Participation in a pre-school programme provides children with their first formal experience of early learning, the starting-point of their educational and social development outside the home. Children who avail of pre-school are more likely to be ready for school and a formal learning and social environment.

Children start in free pre-school in the September of the year they turn 3, right up until they transfer to primary school. To make sure that they can benefit from ECCE as soon as they are eligible, parents enrol their children at three different points during the year: September, January and April.

Check your ECCE start date here and when you’re ready, download an application form here.

Why not contact us for a chat, or if you’re ready to enrol your child you can download an application form, and pop into us with a deposit to secure your place!

What did you do at Bambi’s today?

Parent, Q: What did you do at Bambi’s today?

Child, A: Nothing…

What does nothing mean?

I played with my friends..

Built lego on the yellow table..

Learned how to put the lid back on by myself…

Painted with red. I like red..

Sang a new song today…

My teacher showed me a new book and we looked at it together…

I made a monster in the sand and then squashed it…

My sleeves got wet today..

I washed my hands..

I had lunch with my friends and we talked about dogs…

I spilled my yoghurt..

I did a jigsaw all by myself..

I chose a box of straws to lift and bring over to the red table..

I took my turn at talking about the weather…

I picked out my favourite dress up and played a game of hospital..

I took down my placemat…

I held the blue tac for my teacher and she put my picture on the wall..

My friend got sad and I gave her a hug…

I lifted my chair over myself..

I told a story…

I was counting..

I cooked a dinner…

I was in a battle with my friends and some soldiers…

I put my coat on but the collar was twisted..my friend pulled it out.

Parent: That’s a very busy nothing!

Child: Maybe I’ll do something tomorrow…
